Key Element studio is a music studio built by jazz pianist and producer Daan Herweg. It is in permanent use as a personal production studio by a pool of Amsterdam based music makers: Daan Herweg, Tom Lieftinck, Berenice van Leer, Ralph Verdult and Lars Dietrich, Also a lot of local established and upcoming artists from the Amsterdam Scene know how to find us.
Key Element music is not merely a commercial endeavour but also built as a hub for musicians by musicians. Artistic creation, video, co-writing sessions, rehearsals, improvisation etc. Music first.

Ralph Verdult is our resident engineer. He joined Daan in 2011 when the studio was founded. Besides recording and mixing he has a big love for analogue equipment. When not recording, mixing or mastering, he is traveling around the world as a FOH engineer. He works for bands like MY BABY, Klangstof, Eefje de Visser, and many others.
In the off hours Ralph also works for FabFilter, a Grammy Award winning software plug-in company based in Amsterdam.
